마르셀 브로이어가 바우하우스 교수직 재임 시절 디자인한 제품으로 현재 Knoll을 통해 꾸준히
생산되고 있습니다.
바실리 체어는 자전거에서 영감을 얻어 탄생했습니다. 마르셀 브로이어는 수십년이 지나도 기본 형태의 변형이
없는 자전거에서 아이디어를 고안해냈습니다.
단순한 강철 파이프 형태의 바디의 사이에 가죽으로 연결하여 엉덩이, 등받침, 팔걸이를 만들었습니다.
바실리 체어의 이름은 바우하우스의 교수이자 화가였던 바실리 칸딘스키에게 처음으로 주목받고 그 이후
바우하우스에서 큰 관심을 가지게되어 제일 먼저 의자의 가치를 알아봐준 바실리 칸딘스키의 이름을 따
바실리 체어가 되었습니다.
생산과 조립의 간편성, 가격의 저렴함은 대중에게 사랑을 받을 수 있는 이유가 되었고
바실리체어는 20세기 모더니즘 가구의 상징적인 아이콘이 되었습니다.

It was designed by Marcel Breuer while he was a professor at the Bauhaus. Currently, it is being produced steadily through Knoll.
The Vasily Chair was inspired by a bicycle. Marcel Breuer came up with the idea on a bicycle that, after decades, has not changed its basic form.
The buttocks, backrest, and armrests were made by connecting the bodies in the form of simple steel pipes with leather.
The Wassily Chair was first noticed by Wassily Kandinsky, a professor and painter at the Bauhaus, and after that, the Bauhaus got a lot of attention.
The simplicity of production and assembly and the low price became the reason why it was loved by the public, and the Basili Chair became a symbolic icon of modernist furniture in the 20th century.
